September 17, 2013 | • Michael Rodby suggested to add NSLOOKUP to my Short command line tips page.Used in a batch file to set a variable with the IP address, it is hardly simpler than PING , but used "interactively" it has its advantages.Do note that while PING uses several protocols to resolve a host name, NSLOOKUP uses DNS only and may fail to find computers on home networks without DNS server. Thanks Michael |

The number of features is truly overwhelming; it may require several days of experimenting to try them all. It comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Thanks Stefan |
